Family run Bodegas Navarro Lopez has developed a strong reputation for producing top quality wines since it was founded in 1904. The bodega is consistently praised by national and international wine experts alike and their winemaker, Javier Muoz, has clocked up no less than twelve Gold medals in the last five years alone! This sumptuous red is named after an old friend of the family, who in the 1940's travelled with his mule carriage from town to town stopping at restaurants or hostels buying and selling wine. Made entirely from hand harvested Tempranillo and Garnacha, grown in a single vineyard in Valdepeas Marchante Viejo is packed with complex red fruit and cedar aromas. Gloriously rich with oodles of juicy plum, raisin and chocolate flavours this is delicious on its own or with char grilled meats.
