Forty five years ago The Beach Boys were one of the biggest boy bands on the planet and in a world filled with notions of peace harmony and 'free love' they were the voice of a generation. The band originally gained popularity for their close vocal harmonics and lyrics that reflected the youth culture of cars romance and surfing in California. Dubbed as America's first best rock band and often being called America's Band The Beach Boys have enjoyed huge success in the U.S. Top 40 Chart on 36 occasions hitting the Hot 100 Chart 56 times and have had 4 number one singles. The SMiLE Sessions were originally planned as the follow up to their 1966 classic 'Pet Sounds' but due to the creative mastermind Brian Wilson's mental health issues the release was pushed back.
