Father Herbage Dappledawn loves going for long walks in what he calls The Great Outdoors. His family call him 'Big Foot' because he takes such big strides that the children almost have to run in order to keep up with him. Mother Theodora Dappledawn has a passion for anyhting old. He also enjoys orienteering with his friends, where they have to get from one place to another as quickly as possible with the help of a map and a compass. Sister Tilly Dappledawn is a very quiet little girl who happily spends hours and hours birdwatching. She knows all the birds' names, where they come from and what they eat.
