Its improved processing power means that many of the advanced shooting functions such as Full HD video, high speed burst and multiple exposure modes are made possible. The CMOS sensor is fantastic in low light and has a normal ISO range of 100 12,800 which can be expanded up to an amazing 25,600.Uses K Mount LensesPentax have managed a great feat in the design of this extra compact camera in that it still has the legendary Pentax K mount, so it’s ideal for using old lenses that can date back as far as the 1970s! Of course you won’t get all the autofocus and aperture control but they can still be used. This also makes this camera a super backup for DSLR users.Pentax Shake Reduction Unlike many comparable models from other manufacturers, the image stabiliser on the Pentax K O1 is based inside the camera body. The benefit of this is that you don’t need an image stabilised lens. It works for whatever is attached, even old manual focus lenses. The Shake Reduction function can give up to 4 stops of compensation, ideal for sports and low light shooting.User ModesAs well as having the traditional program, priority, and manual modes, there is and Auto Scene Mode for intelligent scene recognition and 19 user selectable scene modes for a wide variety of preset shooting scenarios. There is also an HDR, or High Dynamic Range Mode. This takes 3 consecutive exposures and combines them to give correct exposure to both highlights and shadows. It is user adjustable for one of three exposure increments for extra control.There are 11 preset custom image functions including Bleach Bypass for movies and Cross Process for wild and wacky colours traditionally produced when film is developed in the wrong chemical set. If that wasn’t enough there are 19 digital filters including Miniature Effect and you can use lots of them in combination for your own special effects.Full HD VideoMovies are recorded in 1920x1080, H.264 format with selectable 30, 25, or 24 frames per second. For quick reactions there is a dedicated video record button and it’s all recorded with stereo sound thanks to the twin built in mics. Lots of video custom functions are included and there’s even an interval shooting mode for a series of short video clips.
